ARCHIVE MARCH 2017: "Meals for the Brave" Providing meals to feed our Wounded Warriors during the Marine Corps Trials
“Etiam in Pugna” the motto of our Wounded Warrior Battalion,”Still in the Fight” says it all. You can join the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group to help our courageous and brave American Heroes who will be competing in the Marine Corps Trials at Camp Pendleton from March 9-15. Over 370 wounded, ill and injured service members from 10 countries will compete in 8 sporting events taking place over 9 days including archery, cycling, swimming, seated volleyball, wheelchair basketball, track, shooting and field. There will be 200 active duty Marines, 50 Veterans and 120 from invited allied nations. These sporting competitions are so vital to our Warrior Athletes as they continue to reclaim their lives after their devastating injuries.
With great honor and pride, the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group will be stepping up their support this year by providing meals to feed our Wounded Warriors healthy and nutritious meals for 3 events; the Track and Field event on Friday March 10th, breakfast for the Cycling event on Sunday March 12th, and box lunches for the Archery event on Monday March 13th at Lake O’Neil. We estimate the price tag to feed our hungry Warriors for these 3 events to be approximately $10,000.
